What is Wellness?

Do you know what Wellness actually means?


Wellness is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” The World Health Organisation.

According to the Oxford dictionary, ‘wellness' means: 
The state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal.

What does Wellness mean to you?

What does YOUR optimal state of wellness look like?

What does it feel like? 

What are you doing?

We understand that wellness looks different for everyone. No two individuals are the same, every human on earth is different. It’s all about finding your own personal balance between the dimensions of wellness; physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental & occupational.

At the end of the day, it's your personal health & wellness, and it's your choice how you want to show up in the world. Just don’t forget, it is imperative that none of the areas mentioned above are neglected.

Our definition of wellness is beyond the physical. Wellness to us is feeling complete and well within your mind, body, soul & life. It’s beyond eating well and moving your body. It is about being able to live in a state of absolute happiness and health in all areas of your life.


Our definition of this is simply being positive, healthy, happy and living well.

  Through observation and practical endeavors, we have discovered some simple steps to guide your wellness journey. The seven topics below (in no particular order) are vitally important for each & every individual to achieve a desired state of wellness, whatever that means for you.

1. Managing Stress
Our 21st-century lives are busy; our minds are in overdrive and stress is not something that we can completely escape. It shows up everywhere in our work, at home, with our friends, families, heck, you can even be stressed while you sleep! Stress is not something that we can eliminate altogether, however, we can change how we manage & react to it.

2. Eating Healthy
If you are what you eat – what are you right now? If you want to feel alive and well every day a well-balanced diet can help you feel exactly like that. What you eat, eventually becomes you. When you look at your plate, is it alive and nutrient dense, or is it dead, a little bit fried and processed? Keep it simple.

3. Maintaining your Physical Health
Eating healthy, moving your body and managing stress is all well and good. However, one critical point of wellness that the health and fitness industry seems to lack, is teaching you how to maintain it once you have achieved your ultimate physical health. Ultimate wellness is no 8-week challenge, it should be maintainable for your lifetime.

4. Drink Clean, Alkaline Water
Stay hydrated, and away from chemicals as much as possible. Keeping your body hydrated is an essential part of wellness to eliminate toxins. Our bodies are made up of 55-65% water and the bodies pH (how acidic/alkaline you are) is directly linked to the state of your physical and mental wellness.

5. Seek a Higher Power
You don’t have to be religious or believe in all the devils or angels in the sky. It is actually about acknowledging there is something greater than you, and that the universe is working alongside you. The law of attraction, manifestation, consciousness, spirit guides, moon energy - it may seem a little woo-hoo if you don’t understand & haven’t learnt about it.

6. Get Social
Find your tribe, your community, those people you just gel with, the ones who just get you. Your environment is extremely important when it comes to achieving inner and outer wellness. After all, the top five people you surround yourself with influence you the most. Are these people currently helping you level up? Do they guide, support, encourage & positively push you, or are they negatively holding you back? If it's the latter, don’t worry. We will guide you in the right direction.

7. Get your Zzzz’s
We all know the feeling after a night with minimal sleep. It can directly affect our whole being the next day or days after. Sleep is extremely important and not everyone needs the same amount. A good nights sleep will assist you in achieving your desired state of wellness.
